Vertebrate is a boss from Space Invaders Infinity Gene.
Appearance[]
It is a large, segmented structure, that creates branching segments.
Behavior[]
Each segment creates a maze the player has to navigate to destroy the segment, in which another repeats this process. When a significant number of segments are destroyed, the boss shrinks into a capsule that attempts to trap and harm the player.
Name[]
It is named for its resemblance to a spine, which is constructed of vertebrae, and such an animal with a spine is named a "vertebrate."
